Call for Submission: Short Story & Flash Fiction Submissions
Volume 2: Hikikomori

This is the second volume of three anthology series (DiverCity, Hikikomori, and Dysphoria).  The second volume (Hikikomori) is focused on Isolation, discrimination, and pandemic. To submit please follow the rules below:

1) Number of submissions: You can submit up to 3 stories (only one may be published after review).  If you have more than one story, please submit them in separate files. The file should be named (Hikikomori 2021 - (Title of your story) - (your name)).

2) First Page should include: the first page should include your chosen name, the title of the story(s), the word count (for each story separately), and your email.

3) Themes: Isolation, discrimination, and pandemic

4) The Word count: between 1000 - 2500 for each story.

5) Main Character: should be identified as a woman.

 

6) The genre: satiric fiction, transgressive, dark fantasy, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, or/and dystopian.

7) Submission Deadline: end of May 2021

 

8) Acceptable File Type: please upload your submission in both Microsoft Word or Pdf (preferably word) 

 

9) Files Name: Hikikomori 2021 - (title of your story) - (your name)

IMPORTANT:

We will publish only 20 stories therefore, we are not able to accept all stories or publishing multiple stories by the same writer. If you're interested to submit your artwork, please submit it through the "Submit button" below as well.

Hikikomori

Hikikomori (Japanese: ひきこもり or 引きこもり, lit. "pulling inward, being confined"), also known as "acute social withdrawal" , is total withdrawal from society and seeking extreme degrees of social isolation and confinement. Hikikomori refers to both the phenomenon in general and the recluses themselves.
